    Description

The University of Notre Dame’s Medieval Institute offers annual stipends to support scholars visiting Notre Dame to consult its extensive Ambrosiana Collection. The collection includes microfilms and other materials reproducing holdings of the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan. The program supports research that benefits from direct consultation of these resources and is open to advanced graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and established scholars.

The stipends help defray expenses associated with research at the Institute, including travel, accommodations, microfilm reproduction, and photoduplication. Awards are made at the discretion of the director of the Medieval Institute, based on the research project description and how consultation of the Ambrosiana Archive will advance the applicant’s work.
