The Franco Mid-Career Fellowship supports associate and full professors in any discipline in the University of Notre Dame’s College of Arts and Letters who want to develop new skills for a future research project. Offered by the Franco Institute in collaboration with the Office of the Dean of Arts & Letters, the fellowship provides teaching relief so faculty can pursue skills acquisition and prepare for research ahead.
Fellows may enroll in Notre Dame courses to acquire new skills and are eligible to apply for additional training-related funding from Franco as needed. The program emphasizes the relationship between the proposed training and future research, including that research’s potential contributions to scholarship, society, or both.
