Description
The NOVA Parks Outdoor Kids Grants program is designed to help Title-I public elementary and middle schools in Northern Virginia facilitate student field trips to local NOVA Parks. The grants cover transportation and other expenses that may prevent access, enabling students to participate in hands-on, SOL-based outdoor educational experiences. Activities include nature walks, live animal presentations, interpretative programs, and other experiences led by experienced naturalists, all tailored to meet Virginia Science Standards of Learning. The program aims to foster a connection between students and the natural world during school hours, at no cost to the participating students.
