Description
BiodivFuture is the sixth call under the Biodiversa+ partnership, supported by the Research Council of Finland. It funds international research projects examining biodiversity and novel ecosystems, with a focus on future-looking research and innovation. The call connects ecological change with socio-ecological dynamics and their consequences for the sustainability goals of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
Its scope includes future pathways and trajectories of change across terrestrial, freshwater, marine and coastal areas. Research can therefore address biodiversity and ecosystem change across all relevant realms, rather than being limited to a single environment. The program’s emphasis is on understanding how biodiversity, novel ecosystems and social-ecological relationships may develop in the future.
