Description
The Novo Nordisk Foundation awards this annual prize to recognise and make visible exceptional science teaching in primary and lower-secondary schools across the Danish Realm. It honours a teacher or a team of up to three teachers from the same school for a distinctive contribution to teaching nature and technology, physics and chemistry, biology, geography, or mathematics.
The central criterion is an exceptional teaching contribution in at least one of those subjects. The selection committee also considers how nominees motivate children and young people to engage with science and technology, develop and share inspiring methods, participate in outward-facing activities or cross-subject collaboration, and strengthen colleagues’ science-teaching environment. Nominees do not need to meet every criterion.
