The Novo Nordisk Foundation supports talented art history researchers undertaking projects of high academic quality that can significantly advance art history in Denmark. Research may cover any period from prehistoric to modern times and address a Danish or international context. Architecture and design projects are eligible when their relevance to the visual arts is clearly demonstrated. Preservation and archaeology projects are not supported.
Projects may be independent studies or clearly defined parts of larger research projects, including publications arising from the research. The Foundation encourages large-scale collaboration and use of the full three-year funding period to allow thorough research. Proposals must demonstrate academic relevance to the research environment at the Danish host institution and be feasible there throughout the project.
