    Description

The Novo Nordisk Foundation supports talented art history researchers undertaking dedicated, high-level research over an extended period. The program aims to make a substantial contribution to art history research in Denmark, funding projects that produce new knowledge and demonstrate academic relevance to the research environment at a Danish host institution.

Projects may address any era, from prehistoric to modern times, with clear relevance to the visual arts in a Danish or international context. Art history is interpreted broadly, encompassing painting, architecture, sculpture, performance, bio-art, photography, film and digital art. Preservation and archaeology projects are excluded. The Foundation’s Committee on Research in Art and Art History assesses proposals, including their academic quality, significance, feasibility and relationship to the host research environment.
