    Description

The Novo Nordisk Foundation’s Mads Øvlisen Postdoc Fellowships support ambitious researchers conducting excellent projects that contribute significantly to art-related research in Denmark. The programme offers up to five two-year fellowships across art history, practice-based artistic or curatorial research, and interdisciplinary art history and natural sciences. All projects must demonstrate relevance to the visual arts and the research environment at the Danish host institution.

Art history projects may address any period in Danish or international contexts. Practice-based projects connect theoretical research with the applicant’s artistic or curatorial production or examination. Interdisciplinary projects must be grounded in art history or art theory while integrating natural science perspectives, including biology, physics, medical sciences or technology. These connections may be practical, historiographical, theoretical or societal.
