Description
The Novo Nordisk Foundation awards this annual prize to a team of two or three teachers whose joint work has made an extraordinary contribution to educating and qualifying university students in the natural sciences across the Danish Realm. The prize aims to showcase teaching that can inspire educators internationally. The Foundation’s Committee on the Novo Nordisk Foundation Teaching Prizes selects the recipients from university nominations.
Alongside personal honoraria, the prize provides an educational grant to the recipients’ university for the team to develop natural sciences teaching. Supported uses include experimental equipment, teaching-facility upgrades, development projects and study visits to other universities. Recipients are celebrated at an annual teaching symposium or their university’s annual celebration, and their work is featured in Science magazine.
