Description
Led by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) as part of UK Research and Innovation’s Quantum Technologies Priority Programme, this opportunity advances UK National Quantum Strategy Mission 2. It funds ambitious research on the components, systems and architectures needed for secure, scalable and resilient quantum networks, with the long-term goal of deploying advanced networks across the UK and laying foundations for a future quantum internet.
Work may address network nodes, routing and switching; quantum memories and repeaters; photonic sources and detectors; entanglement generation; integration with classical infrastructure; distributed quantum capabilities; and verification, benchmarking, security and resilience. Projects should strengthen UK quantum networking capability and generate evidence to inform future Mission 2 priorities.
