    Description

The National Research Foundation’s Equipment-Related Travel and Training Grants support access to specialised research equipment unavailable at researchers’ home institutions, regionally or nationally. Support includes national and international equipment access, synchrotron facilities and other global research infrastructure, as well as natural science collections needed for dissertation research.

The programme also supports physical or virtual equipment-related workshops, practical training and short courses on specialised instruments and complementary feeder equipment. Institutions can host expert instrument scientists to develop skills in sustainably managing high-end equipment. The programme aims to strengthen world-class research, national and international collaboration, and the specialised skills needed to operate research infrastructure effectively.
