The N.S. Bienstock Fellowship is administered by the RTDNA Foundation, the educational arm of the Radio Television Digital News Association. Established in 1999 by Richard Leibner and Carole Cooper, the original owners of N.S. Bienstock, it recognizes a promising minority journalist working in radio, television, or digital news. The fellowship provides financial support to further a young journalist’s education and professional development.
Recipients are invited to Washington, D.C., for the Foundation’s First Amendment Awards and a day of training and networking with industry leaders. The fellowship is part of the Foundation’s annual scholarship and fellowship program, which has supported more than 600 young journalists since 1970.
