Description
NSF’s Division of Atmospheric and Geospace Sciences (AGS) offers postdoctoral fellowships for highly qualified early-career investigators to pursue independent research beyond their graduate education. The program seeks to broaden scientific perspectives, encourage interdisciplinary interactions, and help beginning investigators establish leadership within the atmospheric and geospace sciences community. Fellows may combine field, laboratory, and computational studies using observational, theoretical, or experimental approaches.
Supported disciplines include Atmospheric Chemistry, Climate and Large-Scale Dynamics, Paleoclimate, Physical and Dynamic Meteorology, Aeronomy, Magnetospheric Physics, Solar Terrestrial research, and Space Weather Research. Fellowships are awarded to individuals rather than institutions and require affiliation with an appropriate U.S. host organization and scientific mentor. Research and professional development plans must fall within AGS’s scientific scope.
