    Description

This opportunity supports the development of sustainable, jurisdiction-wide research infrastructure in EPSCoR-eligible states and territories. The program aims to strengthen the research ecosystem by fostering partnerships among academic institutions, government, industry, and non-profits. Projects must be designed to create and sustain key research “cores” (such as research administration, facilities, STEM education, workforce development, or technology transfer) that address the unique needs and priorities of a jurisdiction, with the goal of enhancing R&D capacity and long-term research competitiveness.

    The program emphasizes:

    • Building interconnected research networks across the jurisdiction.
    • Broadening participation in STEM, including engagement of emerging research institutions and underrepresented groups.
    • Supporting the sustainability of research infrastructure beyond the award period.
    • Developing strategic plans aligned with jurisdictional Science & Technology (S&T) priorities.
