Description
The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) recognizes and supports individuals with demonstrated potential for significant research achievements in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Managed by NSF's Directorate for STEM Education, the program funds research-based master's and doctoral education and gives fellows freedom to pursue their own research ideas. It supports people rather than binding them to the exact research project proposed in their applications.
GRFP seeks to identify promising scientists and engineers early in their training, increase participation among eligible U.S. candidates, and strengthen the nation's scientific and engineering workforce.
