Description
The program aims to foster the continuing health and advancement of the U.S. mathematical sciences research community. It supports projects that develop or enhance research infrastructure, provide training (with a research component and broad impact), and organize conferences, workshops, or travel with cross-disciplinary or national significance. Projects must demonstrate impact beyond the submitting institution and address needs at a regional or national scale.
The program encourages:
- Novel infrastructure projects that transform or enhance research capabilities across the mathematical sciences.
- Training initiatives that complement existing workforce programs, broaden participation, and model best practices.
- Conference/workshop or travel support for activities spanning a wide range of the mathematical sciences, especially those not fitting within disciplinary programs.
