Description
SoS:BIO is a joint program of NSF’s Science of Science: Discovery, Communication and Impact program and NIH’s National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS). It supports research advancing the scientific basis of science and innovation policy, with a focus on the biomedical sciences. Funded work may develop models, analytical tools, data, and metrics that inform science policy and the development of the scientific enterprise.
The program welcomes individual and collaborative research projects, placing high priority on interdisciplinary research and broadening participation. Its goals include scientific analysis of important aspects of the biomedical research enterprise and fostering a diverse, innovative, productive, and efficient scientific workforce from which future scientific leaders can emerge.
