Description
This NSF program funds the creation of State and Regional Artificial Intelligence (AI) Infrastructure Hubs to expand access to the computational resources necessary for AI-enabled scientific discovery. The initiative aims to transform research, education, and training opportunities at institutions of higher education by fostering consortia that include universities, state and local governments, industry, and philanthropy. While consortia are responsible for securing the funding for AI infrastructure (compute, data, software), NSF funding supports coordination, workforce development, and faculty training to accelerate AI-enabled research and develop a skilled technical workforce.
