Description
The NSF State and Regional Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Hubs program is designed to catalyze and expand access to advanced AI infrastructure—including computing, data, and software—required for AI-enabled scientific research and workforce development. Each Hub is structured as a consortium led by U.S. institutions of higher education (IHEs), in partnership with state and local governments, industry, and philanthropy. The program aims to address disparities in AI infrastructure across the nation, accelerate AI-driven scientific discovery, and develop a skilled technical workforce. NSF funding supports the coordination of these consortia, workforce development, and faculty training, but not the direct acquisition of infrastructure itself.
