The NSPA/WINS Henry Messer Award for Advocacy in Neurosurgery, presented by the CNS Foundation, honors individuals who have made sustained and significant contributions to supporting the professional development, mentorship, and advancement of those from underrepresented backgrounds in neurosurgery. Named after Dr. Henry D. Messer, a pioneering advocate for LGBTQ+ physicians, this award celebrates impactful work in research, education, mentorship, community engagement, or advocacy that strengthens inclusivity within the neurosurgical specialty.
