Description
The Nurse Educator Fellowship Program is administered by the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) to reward outstanding nursing educators and help retain qualified faculty at Illinois institutions that award nursing degrees. It provides competitive salary supplements rather than funding a separate research study. Participating institutions must have an approved, accredited pre-licensure registered professional nursing program.
Nominees submit a fellowship plan describing their intent to remain with the institution and how they anticipate using the award to enhance teaching, learning, scholarship, student success, equity, or professional practice. Selection considers faculty accomplishments, the strength of the nomination and plan, and potential benefits for traditionally underserved students and communities. Awards are paid through the nominating institution on behalf of the fellow.
