Description
The NYS HOME Program is administered by the Housing Trust Fund Corporation’s Office of Community Renewal within New York State Homes and Community Renewal. Using federal HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds, it supports the acquisition, rehabilitation and construction of affordable housing, as well as assistance that helps low-income households buy or rent homes throughout New York State.
The program has distinct funding rounds. HOME Local supports homeowner rehabilitation, homeownership assistance, manufactured housing replacement and tenant-based rental assistance through local program administrators. The 2026 Homebuyer Development round supports nonprofit developers undertaking substantial rehabilitation or new construction of up to four single-family homes for sale to eligible buyers. HOME-funded housing is subject to affordability periods determined by the activity and investment.
