The NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship provides unrestricted cash grants to individual artists living in New York State and/or one of its Tribal Nations. This fellowship is designed to fund an artist’s unique vision and voice at any stage of their artistic development, rather than specific projects. Over a three-year cycle, awards are given in fifteen artistic disciplines, with five categories offered each year. The program emphasizes artistic merit, clarity, originality, and innovation, and seeks to support artists across a wide range of visual, literary, and interdisciplinary practices. Supported by the New York State Council on the Arts and additional partners, the fellowship aims to nurture creative excellence and diversity throughout New York’s vibrant artistic communities.
