Description
The NYU Innovation Venture Fund is New York University’s seed-stage venture capital fund. It invests in startups founded by NYU students, faculty, and researchers, and/or startups commercializing technologies and intellectual property developed at NYU. The fund supports the transition of university-developed inventions, discoveries, products, and services toward commercial product development.
Its focus is on innovations developed wholly or partly at NYU that have reached the proof-of-concept or prototype stage. The fund seeks ventures addressing a measurable problem in a large and growing market, with founders capable of building a strong entrepreneurial team and executing a financially attractive business plan. It is intended for work ready for commercialization, rather than projects that still require further basic research.
