The New Zealand Society of Animal Production (NZSAP) administers the Animal Science Awards to promote animal science and production through research, professional development and communication. The awards support early-career development of members in New Zealand through postgraduate research, and international travel for study or conferences that exchange knowledge and introduce techniques potentially useful in New Zealand animal science research.
The program also supports members attending Animal Science Congresses of the Asian-Australasian Association of Animal Production (AAAP), New Zealand participation in other AAAP activities, and official representation of the Society. Its objectives include sustaining the Society’s information-sharing activities and inviting members of kindred societies to contribute papers or lectures at annual conferences, workshops and special meetings.
