The Murray Woolford Young Dairy Scientist Award is administered by the New Zealand Society of Animal Production (NZSAP). It supports early-career scientists travelling to research institutions, technology development companies, and dairy industry organisations in countries engaged in dairy production. Conference attendance and visits to relevant organisations are intended to help recipients build professional networks, acquire new technical skills, or encounter ideas with the potential to benefit the New Zealand dairy sector.
Established through contributions in memory of the late Murray Woolford, the award is funded by income from invested memorial funds. Preference is given to applicants demonstrating a passion for innovation, creativity, and lateral thinking in their current research programme.
