The New Zealand Society of Animal Production (NZSAP) administers this travel award to help scientific personnel in New Zealand maintain international involvement in ruminant reproduction science. Its principal purpose is to support attendance at the International Ruminant Reproduction Symposium, held every four years in different host countries, rather than to fund a separate research project.
The award prioritises participants presenting papers, particularly invited papers, and those contributing in official roles such as session chair. Attendance without a presentation or official role requires an exceptional case. The Society’s Management Committee and its nominated ICAR representative assess applications against the award’s scientific objectives. If the symposium ceases to be held or the award’s purpose becomes obsolete, the fund is reserved for travel to an alternative international reproduction-science meeting, such as ICAR.
