Description
Oak Grants are the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation’s funding mechanism for larger, well-established studies and clinical trials addressing significant health priorities in dogs. The program emphasizes scientific discovery and longer-term research that develops innovative treatments, preventive measures, and diagnostic tools with substantial scientific and medical impact.
The program supports established investigators, veterinary clinical scientists, and multidisciplinary research collaborations with the expertise and infrastructure for complex projects. Research may be breed-specific or benefit dogs broadly; proposals need not focus on purebred dogs. Funded work includes chronic kidney disease, canine cognitive dysfunction, epilepsy, cancer, skin bacteria, inherited disorders, elbow dysplasia assessment, and monitoring canine agility athletes.
