The Oakley Center Fellows program at Williams College is designed to foster innovative research in the humanities and social sciences, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary projects. The fellowship provides Williams faculty members on leave with office space at the Oakley Center, research funding, and participation in a vibrant intellectual community. Fellows are expected to be in residence for one or two semesters, engaging in a weekly forum to present and discuss their work-in-progress. Each year, up to two fellows may be recognized as Herbert H. Lehman Fellows for outstanding proposals related to political leadership, public service, or the arts, receiving an additional stipend.
