Description
The Skin of Color Society (SOCS) Observership Grant supports young physicians, scientists, and medical students in developing additional academic or research skills through a focused mentoring relationship. Participants undertake a one- to four-week rotation in skin of color dermatology with a mentor they identify, gaining skills and knowledge to advance their careers as future leaders in the field.
The grant provides support for travel, room and board needed to establish and facilitate that relationship, rather than funding a standalone research project. Skill development and knowledge transfer between mentor and mentee are central to the program, reflecting SOCS’s commitment to mentorship, leadership development, and advancing care for patients with skin of color.
