Description
Arizona State Parks & Trails administers the Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Fund, created by the Arizona State Legislature to promote responsible OHV recreation and manage its impacts. Financed primarily by OHV Decal sales, with a portion of state motor fuel taxes, the fund invests revenue from OHV use back into Arizona recreation areas.
Grants support trail construction and maintenance, trail facilities, and stewardship projects. They also fund law enforcement patrols in recreation areas and information and education projects that encourage safe, ethical OHV use. The program connects upkeep of places used by the OHV community with public safety and efforts to reduce recreation impacts.
