Description
The Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Grant Program funds projects that enhance and maintain recreational opportunities for OHV enthusiasts in Montana. Montana State Parks administers the program using funds appropriated by the State Legislature. The program supports safety, ethics and education, as well as maintenance, protection and improvement of recreational resources.
Examples include safety training in local schools, educational materials for the recreating public, trail steward positions, trail reroutes, bridge crossings, informational kiosks, trail signage and noxious weed eradication. The Off-Highway Vehicle Advisory Committee, whose members represent user groups and land management agencies, assists with grant allocation across the state.
