Description
The Ohio Environmental Education Fund (OEEF), administered by the Director of Ohio EPA, supports innovative environmental education projects within Ohio. Created by the General Assembly in 1990, the fund serves the general public, the regulated community, and preschool-through-university students and teachers. Projects build environmental awareness and knowledge while developing skills for informed decisions and responsible actions.
OEEF emphasizes objective, scientifically sound education rather than advocacy for a particular viewpoint or course of action. Learning should help participants consider multiple perspectives and strengthen critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. The fund supports work closely linked to Ohio EPA’s environmental protection priorities, including environmental career exploration, habitat restoration, air and water quality, exposure reduction, emergency preparedness, and connections between environmental conditions and human health.
