    Description

The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), through its Bureau of Behavioral Health Treatment, Office of Treatment Services, is funding a pilot to establish two regional hubs for intensive residential treatment. The hubs will serve perinatal women with moderate to severe co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions. Perinatal includes the prepartum period and up to 12 months after childbirth.

The pilot expands ASAM 3.5 and 3.7 care with co-occurring enhanced (COE) and biomedical (BIO) services. Its goals are early identification, medically managed residential treatment, timely connections to obstetric, general, and pediatric healthcare, and support during transitions to other care levels. Programs integrate behavioral health treatment, medical services, care coordination, and recovery supports, with children able to stay with their mothers when clinically appropriate.
