Ohio State University’s Global Arts + Humanities (GAH), through its Cross-Disciplinary Research Exchange, supports professional development for graduate students in MFA, DMA, and PhD programs. The grants embed students in university entities or initiatives conducting cross-disciplinary research or creative work in the arts and humanities. Appointments pair practical project contributions with mentoring that establishes best practices, expectations, and skills relevant to academic and alternative-academic careers.
The program advances GAH’s mission to strengthen the role of the humanities and arts in understanding, representing, and addressing global concerns. Proposals should connect student development to meaningful faculty mentorship, diverse perspectives and audiences, and clear cross-disciplinary research or educational goals. Student contributions may include performances, podcasts, videos, blogs, websites, catalogues, databases, publications, or curricula.
