    Description

Ohio State University’s Global Arts + Humanities (GAH) administers the Society of Fellows: External Fellowships through its Cross-Disciplinary Research Exchange. The 2027–28 theme, “(Re)formations,” invites projects examining adaptation, reuse, translation and intertextuality, alongside the social, political, institutional, physical and artistic forms these acts shape. Fellows pursue scholarly, artistic, advocacy or policy-oriented work using arts and humanities disciplinary or cross-disciplinary approaches and/or community-engaged methods.

Projects may investigate how inherited works, objects, ideas and practices are remade, what is preserved or lost, whose experiences become visible or erased, and who holds authority to transform existing forms. The fellowship builds a multidisciplinary research community through a shared seminar and engagement with Ohio State faculty and students. Artistic work centers on creative leadership, professional development or research rather than production or exhibition.
