    Description

Ohio State University’s Global Arts + Humanities (GAH) Cross-Disciplinary Research Exchange administers the Society of Fellows faculty fellowships. The 2027–28 theme, “(Re)formations,” supports research, creative and public-facing projects using arts and humanities disciplinary, cross-disciplinary and/or community-engaged approaches. It considers adaptation, reuse, translation and intertextuality, alongside the social, political, institutional, physical and artistic forms these processes shape.

Projects may investigate how remixing inherited works, objects, ideas and practices creates new meanings, what is preserved or lost, and who holds authority to transform cultural forms. The theme welcomes inquiry into whose experiences become visible or erased, revision’s potential to uncover suppressed truths or distort them, relationships between sources and iterations, refusals of conventions governing power and belonging, and the transformative potential of reforming existing structures.
