The Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) Office of Transit provides financial assistance to urban and rural public transit systems through the Ohio Transportation Partnership Program (OTP2). Its goals are to help systems provide transportation services while using state and federal funds efficiently and maximizing their impact across Ohio.
Agencies may seek capital, operating, or planning assistance. Tier I supports preservation of existing transit systems, such as vehicle replacement and facility rehabilitation. Tier II supports innovation and projects that expand an agency’s capabilities, such as new technology, service-access initiatives, and planning. ODOT evaluates eligible projects against criteria for their tier.
