Description
This program, managed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), funds the implementation of perpetual private land conservation easements held by certified third-party land trusts to mitigate unavoidable adverse impacts from oil and gas development. The grant also may support CPW fee-title and CPW-held conservation easement purchases, depending on priorities and available funds. Projects must promote wildlife habitat conservation, restoration, or uplift, ensuring long-term protection and enhancement of Colorado’s high-priority habitats. Funding levels and award decisions are aligned with current oil and gas permitting activity and are made in the best interests of the State.
