Description
The Oklahoma Water Resources Center (OWRC) administers this competitive research program in cooperation with the U.S. Geological Survey through the USGS 104(b) Annual Base Grants Program. It supports seed research addressing high-priority water problems in Oklahoma, with an emphasis on applied, peer-reviewed investigations.
The program seeks to improve water-supply reliability, explore new approaches to water problems, expand understanding of water-related phenomena, and bring new scientists, engineers, and technicians into water resources research. Disseminating results to water managers and the public is also a core objective. Research priorities focus on emerging contaminants and water quality, data-center water demand, and produced-water reuse and resource recovery.
