Key Information: Requires at least 3 Police Authorities from 3 different EU/Associated countries as beneficiaries.
This grant supports the development of agile detection and investigation tools designed to counter rapidly evolving online harms that threaten citizens' security and well-being. The focus is on creating modular, user-friendly tools tailored to the operational needs of Police Authorities, allowing for quick integration of new functionalities and updates as threats emerge. Projects must use short development cycles to ensure rapid response to issues like identity theft, disinformation, deepfakes, phishing, digital violence, and online payment fraud.
Collaboration among researchers, policymakers, and Police Authorities is essential, with an emphasis on iterative tool development and continuous feedback from practitioners. Engagement with the Europol Innovation Lab is expected, and, where relevant, with the EU Drugs Agency and CEPOL to ensure legal/ethical compliance and effective practitioner training.
The overarching aim is to foster a proactive, effective, and inclusive response to safeguarding online spaces across Europe.
