Description
The Open Access Fund at the University of British Columbia (UBC) provides financial support to help faculty members cover article processing charges (APCs) and other publishing fees for making their scholarly works—such as peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and book chapters—immediately open access. The fund is designed to advance the broad dissemination of UBC research in SSHRC-aligned disciplines, in line with growing requirements from funding agencies for open access publication. Eligible works must be accepted for publication, published by reputable presses or journals, and be freely accessible without embargo upon release. The program encourages responsible open access publishing and aims to eliminate paywalls for UBC research outputs.
