Fulbright Israel plans to award up to three fellowships to research students for the 2027–2028 academic year. Fellows design their own projects at accredited Israeli higher education institutions, using local resources to advance their research and gain international experience. Activities may include independent library, archival, or field research, consultations with local professors, or a combination of these approaches.
The program supports academic excellence, leadership promise, and the potential to advance knowledge while enhancing mutual understanding between the United States and Israel. Its exchange mission extends beyond research: fellows meet local professionals and experts, share daily life and professional or creative experiences, and engage with the host community. Public talks, student mentoring, and cultural and academic events complement the primary research project.
