Description
Operation Stonegarden (OPSG) is part of FEMA’s Homeland Security Grant Program, administered in Michigan by the Michigan State Police Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division (MSP/EMHSD). It supports cooperation among Customs and Border Protection, United States Border Patrol, and federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies conducting joint border-security efforts.
The program focuses on routes to and from international borders, including travel corridors in states bordering Canada and Mexico and states or territories with international water borders. Supported preparedness activities include planning, organization, equipment purchases, training, and exercises tied to coordinated law enforcement and border security. OPSG contributes to the National Preparedness System by helping agencies build, sustain, and deliver core capabilities supporting a secure and resilient nation.
