Description
The Opioid & Substance Use Community Health Grant is administered by Kalamazoo Community Foundation (KZCF) in partnership with Kalamazoo County Government. Funded through opioid settlements, it supports new programs and expansion of existing services for county residents impacted by opioid use disorder, including related substance use and mental health needs. Supported work includes short-term interventions, training, one-time events, directly related capital needs and longer-term program expansion.
The program prioritizes urgent service gaps, disparities in access, culturally specific services and collaboration that increases efficiency, impact or reach. Priority populations include rural residents, people experiencing homelessness, people involved in the legal system and people with intersecting marginalized identities. Proposals should include measurable outcomes, projected numbers served and target success rates.
