Description
Brown University’s Institute at Brown for Environment and Society (IBES) offers Research, Training & Travel (RTT) Awards to affiliated graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. The program provides discretionary funds to enhance scholarly research or teaching activities. Brown graduate students across all departments may request IBES affiliation, joining an interdisciplinary community conducting climate and environmental research in the physical sciences, life sciences, social sciences, public health, and humanities.
RTT places no limits on the types of activities it can support, but applicants must demonstrate why the funds are necessary. Preference goes to requests likely to catalyze a significant advance in the applicant’s scholarship, research, or teaching that is not otherwise funded and for which other funding sources are unavailable.
