Description
The Opportunity for Youth Fund (OYF), administered by the Grand Foundation, helps young people participate in activities when their families’ financial means are a barrier. It supports opportunities the young person has earned the right to participate in, including sports, school trips, additional educational pursuits, arts and culture, camps, and clinics.
The fund also has discretion to support other worthy causes benefiting youth, through organizations that ensure recipients’ needs are met according to the application. Past support includes student trips to Costa Rica, France, Greece, Italy, and Washington, DC; Brain Bowl scholarships; athletic activities; AP testing fees; and assistance to the East Grand School District for smaller needs such as activity fees.
