Opportunity Grants support nonprofits with new or expanded programs, services, and mission-critical capital projects to benefit people living or working in four counties in South Carolina’s Lowcountry.

Funding Amounts: Grant requests under $10,000; awards up to $10,000; typically 12 months
Summary: Supports new or expanded nonprofit programs, services, and mission-critical capital projects serving Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper Counties.
Key Information: Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits, not private foundations, and obtain an access code from Community Investment staff.
Description
Opportunity Grants are part of the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry’s Community Impact Grants. They support nonprofit programs, services, and capital projects that benefit people who live or work in Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper Counties in South Carolina. The program focuses on community impact through targeted investments in an organization’s work.
Funding can help launch new programs and projects or focus, enhance, and expand existing programs and services. Capital projects are also supported when they represent a critical enhancement to the nonprofit’s mission. The program generally does not support general operating expenses, fundraising activities, or other excluded purposes listed below.
