Description
The Opportunity Grants & Sponsorships Program is administered by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission’s Science, Technology & Research (STaR) Division. It supports STEM education, demonstrates the value of STEM in West Virginia, and assists people pursuing STEM careers. Supported activities include camps and workshops for West Virginia residents, initiatives that increase STEM participation, scientific conference and research travel, and scientific or technical events.
The program offers Opportunity Grants, Sponsorships, and Statewide Initiatives. Its priorities include engaging students and citizens in STEM programming, improving undergraduate science and engineering education, and strengthening professional development for faculty members and students. Statewide Initiatives support coordinated partnerships across West Virginia that advance STEM education, research, workforce development, and innovation.
