Ordinary CMG Bursaries are distributed by the Clay Minerals Group (CMG) of the Mineralogical Society of the UK and Ireland. They help researchers and postgraduate students attend conferences, workshops and related activities where they present research on clay minerals, broadly understood. The scheme focuses on supporting participation in these events and the costs of attendance.
The bursaries also connect supported researchers with the wider clay mineral community. Recipients report on their funded activities for publication on the Society’s website and in the CMG newsletter, Phyllosophical News. Applicants are encouraged to support CMG and Society activities through scientific meetings, session organisation, publicity, newsletter contributions, committee participation or submissions to the Society’s journals.
