Description
The Oregon Department of Transportation’s Public Transportation Office funds planning projects intended to improve mobility and accessibility for people in Oregon, strengthen community livability and economic vitality, and make public transportation systems more efficient, connected, and coordinated. Funding comes from Federal Transit Administration Section 5304 Statewide Planning and Research and the Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund Technical Resource Center.
Projects may develop transportation plans, evaluate proposed improvements through feasibility studies, examine regional coordination or duplicative services, or study connections between land use and transportation modes. Planning goals include safety and security, environmental protection, accessibility, connectivity, efficient operations, and preservation of existing transportation systems.
